Success Story – June – Mr. Askew

by | Oct 26, 2022 | blog

Carlton Askew was admitted to Jolley Acres due to seizures, encephalopathy, and UTI. On admission, Mr. Askew required extensive assistance for all self-care tasks and standing balance.

Mr. Askew received occupational and physical therapy to improve his overall strength and mobility while reducing his risk of falling. Within a few weeks, he was able to walk 50 feet with a rolling walker with moderate assistance and progressed to moderate assistance for self-care. Mr. Askew was determined to improve towards his prior level of function and return home.

Upon discharge home, Mr. Askew was able to ambulate with a rolling walker up to 200 feet and improve his overall balance with supervision. Mr. Askew is excited to return home, where he will be able to take his daily walks and visit family.
