Success Story – Aug – Wayne Baxter
Wayne Baxter was admitted to Jolley Acres due to multiple falls and COPD at home. While as a resident of Jolley Acres, Mr. Baxter received physical and occupational therapy to improve his overall standing endurance and mobility to be able to perform everyday task at home.
Mr. Baxter required extensive assistance for all daily tasks due to decreased endurance and balance. After several weeks of intense therapy, Mr. Baxter was able to increase his strength and required less assistance to perform standing tasks. His main goal was to be able to more mobile within narrow spaces in order to visit his grandchildren.
Mr. Baxter was able to progress with transfers and ambulation, requiring guarding for safety and with a rolling walker. Ultimately, he was discharged home, where he will continue to thrive with home health therapy and assistance from family members. Thank you, Mr. Baxter for your positive attitude and participation!
