Success Story – Sept – Tony Robinson
Tony Robinson was admitted to Jolley Acres due to a cerebral aneurysm. Mr. Robinson received services from physical, occupational, and speech therapy to address his deficits in cognition, strength and address his dysphasia.
After several weeks of intense therapy, Mr. Robinson increased his strength to improve ability to decrease assistance required from staff. Mr. Robinson is now able to transfer and walk throughout the facility independently and participates with group activities. Mr. Robinson was able to thrive with all self-care tasks and improve his diet to regular consistency.
Ultimately, Tony was discharged home where he will continue his progress with Home Health. We greatly appreciate Mr. Robinson for choosing Jolley Acres for his care!
Success Story – Aug – Wayne Baxter
Wayne Baxter was admitted to Jolley Acres due to multiple falls and COPD at home. While as a resident of Jolley Acres, Mr. Baxter received physical and occupational therapy to improve his overall standing endurance and mobility to be able to perform everyday task at home. Mr. Baxter required extensive assistance for all daily tasks due to decreased endurance and balance. After several weeks of intense therapy, Mr. Baxter was able to increase his strength and required less assistance to perform standing tasks. His main goal was to be able to more mobile within narrow spaces in order to visit his grandchildren.
Success Story – July – Josephine Adkins
Josephine Adkins was admitted to Jolley Acres due to a UTI and several falls. Upon admission, Mrs. Adkins was required extensive assistance for all daily living tasks and transferring from the bed to the wheelchair. After several weeks of intense therapy, Mrs. Adkins was able to increase her strength to improve with her bed mobility to moderate assistance with our therapy and nursing staff. Ms. Adkins can stand at the parallel bars with minimal assistance for safety, where she enjoys participating with group sessions with other rehab patients.
Success Story – June – Mr. Askew
Carlton Askew was admitted to Jolley Acres due to seizures, encephalopathy, and UTI. On admission, Mr. Askew required extensive assistance for all self-care tasks and standing balance.
Mr. Askew received occupational and physical therapy to improve his overall strength and mobility while reducing his risk of falling. Within a few weeks, he was able to walk 50 feet with a rolling walker with moderate assistance and progressed to moderate assistance for self-care. Mr. Askew was determined to improve towards his prior level of function and return home.
